Joelle Butler

As the Associate Director for Faculty and Staff, Joelle’s role is to oversee enterprise-wide efforts to advance disability inclusion and accessibility for all of Emory’s employees. This includes managing the interactive process for coordination of ADA reasonable accommodations, outreach and training, programming, collaboration with many stakeholders, and broader advocacy efforts.

Joelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cornell University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She takes pride in her twenty-year career working with people with disabilities as a clinician, a community-based program administrator and a disability specialist in higher education (since 2019). Joelle’s social work values guide her approach to her role with Emory and her personal and community endeavors.
